Welcome

West Aikido
Iwama Ryu
North West is a non-profit organisation.
Aikido is a modern martial art developed
in the middle of the last century by O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba. Aikido
was the result of his intensive study into the Japanese sword, stick
and body arts which he rationalised and fused into a unified system
of principles.
Practice in Aikido consists of weapons
training, empty handed techniques, working with multiple attackers
and all of the scenarios in between.
All Iwama Ryu North West instructors
work on a voluntary basis. We aim to offer the best facilities and
training to all our students, with the emphasis placed upon Excellence.
All our external instructors are suitably experienced and qualified
to deliver our other activities. Learn more about Aikido.
From
November 2011 all junior classes are free for one year!
Iwama Ryu
North West / Lancashire Bushcraft have successfully bid for an amazing
£6000 of funding from the Chorley Community Housing Neighbourhood
Fund. The cash will be used to pay for a full year of free Aikido
classes and Bushcraft activities for youngsters from Chorley and
the surrounding areas. Click for more info...
