Iwama ryu North west have been successful in bidding for the Chorley Community Housing Neighbourhood Fund. We have received £6000 to run both Aikido classes and Bushcraft activities with our sister organisation, Lancashire Bushcraft. Aikido classes will run from November 1st 2011 for a whole year and are open to all children in the Chorley and district area. Bushcraft activities will take place every Sunday morning for a year using local woodlands. Please contact us for more details. The first 50 memberships are free, classes are free and there will be five weekend bushcraft trips up for grabs!

A new Aikido club will be starting at Gillibrand primary school soon, the first full time Aikido club to be set up in a primary school.

A further six month funded project will run from January 2012, aimed at secondary school pupils in the local area. Young people are invited to apply now.

Please take a look at our UK affilliation page. It brings together all the British Iwama clubs linked under the guidance of Matt Hill Sensei, 5th dan Iwama Ryu. www.iwamauk.co.uk
